SUPPORT THE CHILDREN
Strengthening Communities One Family at a Time.
We know that the core of every community is the family. Due to hardships often beyond parents' control, providing food, clothing, medical care, and educational opportunities for their children becomes a nearly impossible task. Through the MO-RONI Foundation, we focus on working directly with families so that everyone can feel supported and empowered to become a stronger family and a stronger community.

Students in Haiti face many daily challenges that make it difficult to succeed in school. Many children walk long distances on empty bellies just to get to their hot, overcrowded classrooms. Homework is done by the light of a kerosene lamp, and questions about their lessons often go unanswered by parents who never had the opportunity to learn to read or write themselves. At the MO-RONI Foundation, we work to recognize the incredible efforts that many children make in order to excel in their schoolwork. We work to address the various challenges from offering school sponsorship programs to children whose families could not afford to even send them to school, as well as awarding students for their academic successes to encourage them to continue making these efforts that will change the trajectory of their life for the better.
For many Haitian children, time to play is a luxury not afforded to them because the demanding tasks of survival take priority. Fetching water, working in the farms, selling in the markets, and taking care of the home become the shared responsibilities of every family member, starting at a very young age. Each year, the MO-RONI Foundation provides an opportunity for kids to be kids, even if just for one day of the year. The annual Christmas Celebration is a collaboration of local organizations, international supporters, and community involvement from local musicians and entertainers to police and other community leaders. Reaching out to some of the most humble neighborhoods, families are invited to sing, dance, play, and feel the Christmas spirit each December. Children walk away with smiles on their faces and joy in their eyes from receiving what is for many the first toy that Santa (or anyone) has ever given them.
